The Latest Stories Of
Mark & Kate’s Wedding
This year would have been a decade since I started shooting
fulltime. If my memory serves me right, my last day of work
for Aboitiz was around September 27th or 30th back in 2013.
After that it was all pictures, a little bit of travel
and a lot of meeting people, some of whom have become like
family to me.
I think I survived the photography thing with a bit of luck
and maybe better writing than the actual pictures. Nevertheless,
I’m terribly grateful people still ask me to shoot. And by this
time, they pretty much want the same thing. Less pictures :D
Who can get any luckier than that?
It was a little warm and traffic was not so nice during Mark
& Kate’s wedding back in June. Still, like most weddings, it
ended all the same. Two brave souls, going against the odds
and fulfilling what has long been written in the stars for them.
Thank You Mark & Kate for allowing me & Tim to just be.

A 47 Year Wait
Photography, like life, is also just like a box of chocolates. You’ll
never really know what you are getting yourself into. Back in 2015,
I was merely the secondary photographer on one of this family’s
events. In 2016, they asked me to shoot a 1st birthday. Year, after
year, after year after that, we met for year end portraits. Even
during the pandemic. Who would have thought?
It took almost 47 years before this wedding happened. Some things,
I guess, are meant to happen and some people, I also guess, are
meant to find their way into the lives of other people.
I never really looked at taking pictures as merely a business transaction.
To me, it’s being allowed a peak into the lives of other people and being
trusted to tell a story. This bunch, however, has allowed me not only to
peak but to step into their lives over and over and over again. It is
such a humbling experience every time.
Thank You Gie, Dave & everybody. I will see you again soon.

Our Once a Year Thing
Working with a team who has to take care of customers 24/7 makes
gatherings such as this a challenge. From internet connectivity, to
food and logistics, pretty much every single detail is an area for
consideration.
Luckily, we managed to pull it off again this year despite almost
doubling in size and expanding support world wide beginning last January.
For this year’s bonding activity, we figured out a place 15 minutes away
from the office, which was very convenient. It was a good getting-to-know
activity for around 10 newcomers who I think fit in quite nicely with
the rest of the team. We sang and swam, we ate and played and wasted
the night away sharing stories and getting to know each other a little bit
better.
Thank You teammates. On to the next activity please.

Riza and Ron
These past couple of years, I’ve been back & fourth The Chapel
at the Archbishop’s Palace. For some beautiful reason, people
who get married there find their way to me. Coincidentally,
my sister, myself, a few friends and a handful of clients
got married there too.
Riza & Ron were no exception. When I received Riza’s message in
Instagram, I kind of hinted that we share a connection with
her wedding photographer in Australia. She instantly messaged
as soon as she realized Josephine & I knew each other :) By
now, you already know where Josephine got married! Aha!
Like always, this was a very laid back wedding. I believe there
were less than 30 of us. I sat and celebrated like one of
the guests and took picture when I thought it mattered.
Thank You Riza & Ron. See you down under alright?

Venn & Golda’s Wedding
This year, I’ve been asked to shoot from behind the scenes
a couple of times which is something that I terribly don’t
mind considering I always shoot as casually as I can.
I don’t know, perhaps everything you see on online
looks a little more the same, you know?
I was actually happy Venn & Golda still asked me to come
with a camera despite already having a primary photographer.
We met just before the pandemic and kept in touch, most likely
because Venn & I share the same love for sneakers. Haha.
Thank You Venn & Golda. I will see you again soon!
