The Latest Stories Of
Hong Kong, So Long Already
For some strange reason, I actually don’t miss the whole idea of
travel. However, the little parts that constitutes what one
would call “travelling” are the ones that keep replying in
my head. The sitting at the airport waiting gates are the part
that I miss the most – seeing arriving and departing airplanes,
a wave of people going about their lives, listening to
boarding announcements while enjoying a cup of coffee on one hand.
Nowadays the idea of travel feels like a visit to my archived
pictures thoughout the years. And while it feels like our next
airplane ride will be months or years ahead, everytime I go
through pictures such as these of Dyan, Reylan and their family
at Hong Kong Disneyland back in 2017, I am transported back to
a waiting gate with a cup of coffee on one hand.

Alex and Ann
Often times, my archive of pictures surprises me. Like
these ones of Alex and Ann way back 2017. I can still remember
how the drive from Subic to Ilocos and back took more of
our time than the actual shoot itself. I think we were sleep
deprived throughout the whole trip.
Still it was a wonderful experience. The best part of it was
walking and running around the sand dunes. These are from
a few years ago but Thank You Alex and Ann.

Pit Senyor!
There would have been an unlimited supply of words to accompany
this blog considering it is Sinulog. However, trying to find the
right ones to describe the general feeling of this year’s
celebration would still do no justice. Yes, most if not all of
us celebrated the feast but with a lingering sadness hanging
on our shoulders.
We went out and drove the usual parade route today.
There are hints of celebration everywhere still but
I can only imagine how great it would have been if not….
Despite of it all, Pit Senyor!!!

Kevin and Dew
Dew was one of the last give up on the hope of even a small
wedding. When June of last year, which was the month she and
Kevin was supposed to be wed, was approaching, we kept in touch
because she wanted to pursue the wedding no matter how simple
it would have been. I remember her telling me she’d drop even
the wedding dress just to get married.
Things, however, were complicated around that time last year so
they decided to move it to later this month instead. When they
finally told me about their plan, I offered to meet them again
for a few more pictures on the same date that we initially took
pre wedding pictures back in December of 2019. It was a brief
meeting but I enjoyed seeing them again after a year.
Kevin and Dew, thank you for dragging me along in your journey.
I will see you later this month, alright?

Amaris Sage
A day after Christmas I was invited to shoot Amaris’ 1st
birthday. There wasn’t going to be a party to avoid putting
people at risk but her parents arranged a meet and greet kind
of day where families and friends can drop by in batches meet
Amaris and tell her their wishes.
Back in August, when restrictions were in full swing, I also
took her baptism photos. Luckily, proper rules are already
in place so these happened back in December.
Thank You Brian, Hannah and Amaris!
