Rayam and Olive

These two asked me to photograph their wedding when we still
didn’t know how to go about our lives last year. I’ve gotten
to know Olive throughout the years because she freelances as
a wedding coordinator but it was still a bit of a surprise
when she asked me to in charge of the pictures.

I can recalling asking her over and over if she was sure
about her decision. Because, you know? I’m not everybody’s
wedding photographer.

It was raining heavily when their wedding day began. But like I
always say, weddings always end the same. With the bride
and the groom, enveloped by everybody’s love and well wishes.

Thank You Rayam and Olive.

Rayam and Olive

When we met to take these pictures, the rain was moody so
we had to stop and start in between. Well today’s kind of
different because the rain is relentless. However, no wedding
should be paused just because of the rain and today,
these two, Rayam and Olive are tying the knot.

I can’t count the many times I asked Olive to re-evaluate me
as her choice to take these photos. I could say I’m too old
for fancy things and would like to stick it out with the
ordinary but she was insistent so I guess.

See you in a while Rayam and Olive.

A 30th Birthday at Pukot Kitchen Cebu

From work, I drove straight towards Banilad. I almost forgot
we had our little version of Dumaguete’s famous Flying Fish
Hostel here. And mind you, ours had Pukot Kitchen. It was my
first time and wonderfully enough, these guys invited me to
have dinner with them and take the pictures. How could I say
no, you know?

There was just 11 of us and the supposedly surprise gathering
didn’t turn out as planned because of the freaking rain.
Judging by the face of the birthday boy, however, I could say
it was a success. Everyone had fun, the place was nice enough
and the food was great. Thanks for inviting me over everybody.

Tasyo and Joy

I woke up earlier than usual this morning and drove off
to Mactan to take these few photos of Joy and Tasyo. It’s a
week since they got married back in Leyte. I was supposed
to be there but these days, moving from island to island
is a little risky so I stayed put and asked to take post
wedding pictures instead.

They would have worn their wedding gown and barong but Joy’s
cousins told me her gown weighed so much it required 2 people
to carry it. Hahaha. I guess we’ll reserve that for another
time.

We walked around Crismson Resort early and took a few photos
here and there. After which, we drove of to Starbucks to quickly
catch up before we parted ways. Thank You over and over Joy,
Tasyo, Christine Joy and Jane.

Lowcost Outing at the Parking

Before 2020, Sundays are reserved for Church and then
the usual trip to the mall which always, always ends at
Starbucks at the Terraces. We’d sit and talk while the kids
play until we are bored and the only way out of the boredom
is to go home. The mall would have been closed by then
and we’d run around the already empty corridors lit only
by shops which are renovating or repositioning stocks.

Nowadays, Sundays are still for the mall but since kids aren’t
allowed, we just hang around the parking area. We still talk
while the kids play. When it rained earlier, we tucked our-
selves indside the car and came out only when the sky was clear.
