The Latest Stories Of
The Canonizados Vol. 4
I had to scour the blog to look at past shoots just to confirm
that this will be indeed called Volume 4. There is quite a
pile of pictures on my library with these bunch that it looks
to me like we are in this for the long haul. Writing all
of this down while looking at the pictures makes me a little
emotional.
This year though was a little special and no, it wasn’t because
of the pajamas. Hahaha. But I guess it is because we’ve somehow
figured out that this meeting we have every November is a
good time to look back at how much the kids have grown and
how much each of them is slowly become their very own person.
We laughed and ate, we drank coffee and shared stories from
the years that added up. This was perhaps the most relaxed
session we had. I can’t wait how things will be next year.
We ended the session with ramen and before we all knew it
another November has passed. Thank you so very much Dave, Gie, JV and Gia.

Neil, Tine and Jacob
When I drove to Lapu-lapu just after lunch last Saturday,
the sun was a little intense. So we thought, alright we can
start the shoot a little late in the afternoon.
And then it rained.
Luckily we’ve already managed a few pictures and the downpour
actually stopped after 10 minutes or so.
In between shooting, Neil, Tine, Jacob and myself exchanged
stories. I guess that’s just how I work these days. I’d both
take your pictures and tell your story.
When we were about to wrap up, we’ve had a few hundred pictures,
we’ve got our hair a little wet from all the playing and we’ve
managed to get to know each other better.
Thank you Neil, Tine and Jacob.

Maku and Chang
I remember meeting Chang and Maku for the first time at
10 Doves in Axis Point. And then again at their cool office
around Jakosalem prior to these pictures and another round
just a few months back. One thing’s for certain, there
are always so many things to talk about and a whole lot of
those things are funny we always end up laughing our hearts
out.
Too bad, work will keep me from being at their wedding.
Nevertheless, it was such a pleasure knowing these two
and how we agree on so many things.
These were taken back in March of last year but I’ve never
had the chance to write about it. However, I wasn’t going to
let their wedding pass without blogging about the first part
of these pictures so here goes.
Thank you, really, Maku and Changgg!

The 8th
Photography has gotten me to places I’ve never thought I’d be.
Dubai, Thailand, The Burj Al Arab where I literally rolled over
in the toilet because I’m sure I won’t get another chance, among
others. While the trips have taken kind of a break, the pictures
still keep coming once in a while and while I do miss being
out every weekend, the slow down’s been kind of an eye opener.
For me, it’s appreciating every chance I get to point my
camera at people which comes only once in a while these days.
Pach, Seven and now Chanel here, were the ones responsible for one
of my trips to Dubai. We’ve literally been seeing each other every
October with the only exception of last year. 2021 marks their
8th year of being together and I’m really happy they asked me
for these pictures.
Salamat Seven, Pach and Chanel. See you again soon!

Ras Al Khaimah
The farthest my camera brought me is Dubai. The first was early
2017 and the second and, hopefully not the last one, in 2018.
Incidentally, it was winter when I first went and terribly warm
on my second visit. Nevertheless, both were memorable and it has
changed my personal views about the place.
I’ve written about these pictures of Seven and Pachille a few
years ago because we’ve always been meeting every October since
2013. They were the ones who took me to Dubai in 2018 for their
5th wedding anniversary. Last year, was impossible but hopefully
we’ll get a chance to see each other again this year.
It’s their 7th year of being together. We agreed to head over to the
US for their 10th. Hopefully we’ll get there soon. As always,
Thank You Seven and Pach.
