Little Josef

I still remember being picked up by Ed and Jes somewhere in Makati
and then driving off to Tagaytay a few years ago. They asked me
for some pictures when Jelatin turned one back in 2019.
Did we get McDonalds for dinner that time Bai?

I rarely shoot babies now as I usually point them towards
Nono by Dyan but for the right people, I always go out of the
way. So a few weekends back, I met this bunch of 4 now.

As always, it is terribly fun shooting families with little
kids so I don’t stress myself and just capture whatever
is presented in front of me. These are it. Thank You Ed, Jes,
Jelatin & Josef.

Sunset in Medellin

Conversations on how to go about pre weddings has gotten
a little simpler lately. It usually ends up on us agreeing
to head over to a nice place over sunrise or sunset, grab
some food and have a lot of fun taking pictures while getting
to know each other.

Niel & Russel’s were no different. From the time I received
a message from Russ over Messenger, I already hinted we were
going to get along just fine.

Early November, we drove off to Medellin and waited for the
the majestic sunset. I think we were on the road longer
compared to the time to take pictures. Nevertheless, we
made good with the time that we have and here are some
of our pictures.

Niel & Russ

I’ve been to a few weddings over the last few years
and I can say with certainty that a lot of the same things
happen over and over again. Which makes shooting weddings
a challenge because you can get bored, you know?

I find, however, that when you look closer, there
are intangibles that makes every single wedding beautiful.
During their wedding, Niel said his vows
without reading from something a piece of paper or a phone
and I thought to myself, “that was the most beautiful thing
I saw that day.”

Thank You Niel & Russ for inviting me.

The Canonizados Vol. 5

As you can guess by the title, this is about the 5th time or
make that year, that myself and this family of four have met
for these pictures. We didn’t miss a year since 2018 and
even found a way to meet towards the end of 2020. Imagine that!

We didn’t plan on making this an annual affair as matter of fact.
It came out of nowhere and while the kids aren’t particularly fans,
their mom told me that they terribly enjoy looking at the books
we have printed as the years rolled by.

I guess I’m just a little lucky to have bumped into this family,
you know? Year after year, the amount of time taking pictures
become less and less while stories about life and kids and such
are getting longer. It’s amazing really.

We initially planned to trek to OsmeƱa Peak but decided on a
beach last minute. Maybe next year. Thank You Kaayo Dave, Gie, JV and Gia.

Jon and Joanne’s Wedding

Joanne asked me to be their wedding photographer late last year.
This meant that I’ve gotten to know them a little bit.
We went out of town for their pre wedding and met again
for another set of pictures while exchanging messages.
I’ve kind of figured which pictures to take and which not.

On their wedding day, we hang around, like we always do
and clicked on the cameras whenever we needed to. Nothing
too intrusive which would not be who they were and not too
far back where we’d miss out on the real things.

Jon and Joanne, I really appreciate that you asked me
to take these pictures. Daghang Salamat!
