Fr. Glad, the priest who celebrated Rúben and Czarina’s wedding kept everything short and sweet. During the homily, he emphasized that even though there were only really few of us and that there were no decorations, Rúben and Czarina’s wedding was still beautiful.
Everything was briefly prepared in less than a week’s time, Czarina told me while having her make-up done. This was supposed to be in June but let’s just say things happened. She added that a photographer wasn’t even an option, so I thanked her for asking me make sure these pictures see the light of day.
There were no details, no air-conditioned rooms for dressing up but that didn’t make this day any less special. Fr. Glad’s words has resonated with me even before this pandemic. “What is essential is invisible to the eyes.”, I read from book years ago. I guess I took it by heart and I’m really happy where it got me.

I remember Fr. Glad because he used to celebrate mass at Aboitiz.

It was my first time back inside a church in such a long time.
And just like that, Reuben and Czarina were married.
But we had to continue with the mass.
