The world’s not really in a good place right now
And we can all dwell on everything that’s going wrong
But while it helps to always be on the defensive
Celebrating the good things doesn’t hurt too
Last Monday, my Mama Janette and Uncle Ric
Finally had the church wedding they’ve been waiting
A little over 2 decades in the making
I took the photos like I always do
And as Mama and Uncle wanted it to
Nothing really fancy
I guess when you’ve reached a certain age
You have a better appreciation of what real beauty is
And no, it’s not something that can be seen
But can definitely be felt…
We start of with their Civil wedding back in July.
I was there too.
I could count the people there with my fingers.
Maribojoc’s Mayor officiated the wedding.
Cabinet Secretary Jun Evasco was there as a sponsor.
It was quick as the last 25 years.
Everyone had a good laugh.
In front of the Municipal Hall.
We had lunch at the Maribojoc Board Walk.
And then I took a few photos after.
It was a cloudy day.
Uncle and Mama.
The baordwalk was really nice.
The sea was calm too.
I followed them on our way home.
Look at the camera.
Really happy I learned how to take pictures.
So then when I grow old, I can look and marvel at all of these.
Let’s begin last Monday’s celebration.
Here’s Mama.
She didn’t want pictures because it was too warm.
Roses at Mama’s garden.
Aileen and Manang Malou, Mama’s trusted people.
Uncle Ric getting ready.
A few portraits at the garage.
Hello Uncle.
A few pictures before we left.
At the front door.
Miggy and Janice came to celebrate with us from Alabang.
Bishop Bai came all the way from Borongan too!
Miggy and Janice.
The mood was happy.
Miggy’s first time to walk.
Aileen and Manang Malou again.
That’s former Cabinet Secretary Evasco.
Bai!
Miggy sat by himself.
Uncle Ric sang a song when he and Mama walked together towards the altar.
Mama’s classmates were all there.
Fr. Malanog delivere the homily.
And then Bishop Bai officiated the marriage rites.
I talked left and right for pictures.
Behind Mama is my Tita Patring.
I moved in close too. Like in a real wedding. Haha.
The bearers.
The ring ceremony.
The viel was especially made by Janice.
The rosary cord too!
I love taking pictures at the church.
With the officiating priests.
With the principal sponsors and bearers.
And the entourage! Haha.
Finally!
Everybody cheered when they exited the church.
Uncle was overcome by happiness.
Mama too.
Before the reception started, we stopped by the entrace.
Sp we can take a few pictures.
The light was marvelous.
So were the trees.
I could not be happier they picked this church.
Walking.
The last 25 years flew by like a blur.
Reception time.
The first dance.
And the closing dance number by Mama and her classmates. “Hands Up!”
