I never really thought I’d end up traveling a bit, you know?
Sure I’d think of Times Square, San Francisco, or that train in Vienna
But I never really gave myself a shot
Like seeing those places in the movies or on TV was already enough
That was until I stepped foot in Singapore back in 2009
It was supposed to be just for fun
But I found myself back there again after a few months for work
I didn’t quite get the hang of it so I went back to Cebu after a year
Jao and Mike, however, figured things out and stayed there
That’s why I’m always in Singapore sometimes 3 or 4 times a year
Because for some reason I always have a home there.
So this year, on our supposedly 10th year of calling Singapore home
I went back to celebrate the little victories we had back then.
Since my flight was early in the evening I took the MyBus from SM and was dropped off here. The new terminal looks really good!
We arrived 30 minutes ahead of schedule and I could actually take the train but I took the taxi so I could catch the last call for Maggie Goreng Ayam Masala at the Roti Prata House in Upper Thompson Road.
The next day, Mike and I went around.
Please!
Luckily there was a double decker bus. One of the really nice things about being in Singapore.
Bishan Interchange.
Next item on the checklist.
Singapore was relatively cool on the days I was there.
I had to pass by Somerset 313. There’s not a visit that I don’t stop here.
And passed by the Library at Orchard. It was really neat!
More bus rides.
I think I’ve only tried the Flyer once.
Marina Bay Sands!
3rd Item on the checklist. Kopi and Toast.
The always wonderful view from the Shoppes.
There’s Mike and Mic. One of the very first people I took pre wedding photos of.
Did you know you can actually hear each others voices here even if one of you was on the other end?
The Helix bridge. This wasn’t here back in 2009 when we first step foot in Singapore.
The Green Double Decker!
Quick to the trigger on the iPhone.
Back in 2009, Jao and I waited for an NR bus here for almost 30 minutes not realizing NR buses only travel past 12 Midnight. What the!
Milk Tea never stops. Here’s Singapore’s version. When you’re bisaya and you order, you say. “Milk Tea Pa-Liho!” Hahahaha.
Everyday is a raffle day.
We then headed to the airport to get our hands on Shake Shack!
And Shake Shack we did.
A view from our residence.
It’s worth knowing that Yio Chio Kang was the first places we stepped in when we decided to work here 10 years ago.
I rushed early to Canon in One-North to secure my cameras which needed to be cleaned.
Random pictures around Tanjong Pagar.
I think this used to be a red building.
Even doors in the alley ways look cool. Right?
And the alley itself.
This is Collin and Jelaine. I met them here in Cebu early August when they visited and asked me to take photos of them. We met again in Singapore. I guess, I’ll be seeing more of them everytime I visit the Lion City.
The housing units which are pretty neat.
I had to take a picture of this because Mike will be moving soon and this might be the last time the three of us will be in Singapore together for a period. Quite nostalic. 10 years worth of memories.
This is Jao, Mike and his wife Mic.
So we ate at Four Fingers instead.
And had Ben and Jerry’s for dessert.
But this is below Orchard Central.
One last Maggie Goreng before going home. But I thought of this idea. Get two prathas and sandwich the maggie goreng inside. Pretty much how you place spaghetti in between two piece of bread. Only in the Philippines.
It might be a long time before I come back. I will miss The Roti Prata House for sure.
We passed by Queensway too.
And IKEA of course.
A few more pictures of the last house we are going to share together.
And the airport finally.
But not before another Shake Shack.
We were early so I had time to roam around Terminal 4.
And then it was time to go home.
I slept the whole time because I had the whole row to myself. It was brief but good. Thank You Singapore.
