I actually tried to write about this wedding from Dumaguete last night
However, sleep got the better of me
It was raining quite a bit when we left headed back to Cebu earlier this morning
But not before passing by the Dumaguete City Market for some good old puto and sikwate!
And getting ourselves a new pair of spartan slippers
We’ve been doing this for a couple of years already
And somehow, we’ve never really gotten past the anxiety
Of covering a wedding day
So in between candids and portraits, you’d find us in a corner
Most of the time laughing about the same things over and over
I’d never actually met Kate and Steve prior to their wedding
So the anxiety was a little bit near the borderline
But somehow the day eased itself and we actually thought it was a good day
It rained mightily towards the reception, hence the soundtrack
But like most things that stood in the way of Love
It didn’t stand a chance, not even a bit…
Somehow, we find ourselves in Dumaguete City around this time every year..
We met Kate on the day of her wedding.
Little Lily who was terribly camera shy at first.

We didn’t really take too long with the guys. It was quick and painless as Steve would say.
Now it was Kate’s turn.
Here she is with the maid of honor.

After a while Lily smiled at us.
We took a few more pictures of Kate before we left for church.

I thought this view of the coconut leaves from inside the church looked cool.
And we are begining the ceremony.

The officiating priest welcomed Steve to the Filipino family and noted how he’d see him bless to Kate’s parents.
The Bishop’s Palace in Bacong was just enough for the intimate ceremony.
Really happy Kate’s brother held the microphone.

The fact that family members held the microphone made a lot of difference.
I walked in really close for this.

And off to the party!
We saw some coconut leaves hanging outside the church so we thought we’d use it.
It rained but stopped before we began.
The setup was really, really lovely!
Part of the setup which was exposed to the rain was soaking wet.
Before we began, these two are already enjoying an ice cold pilsen.
The kids had ice cream.
No rain can stop us of course!
I quickly snapped the photo on the left as soon as I noticed a dog passing by.
By the end of this post wedding session, that umbrella was completely useless. Hahaha.
We would have wanted a little sun but we’re not complaining.
Really glad Kate and Steve asked us to come from Cebu.

I’d normally not post this but the lights back there looked like fireflies.
And that was all of that. No fancy, just a good old wedding celebration.
Because everybody wanted to party.
When you’ve just been married, you’ll have powers like Scarlett Witch. Kidding! Thank You Kate and Steve!!!
