Today, I tagged along a newborn shoot of Nono by Dyan
She used to be a client back when the only person who took baby pictures was me
And then we became good friends
Especially because she asks us to come to her house and eat :D
Thank You MamDyan!!!
She’s one of the best in town, when it comes to newborns
A few days ago I asked her if I can take behind the scenes pictures when she’s working
Luckily she agreed and we scheduled the shoot this morning
The other day I took baby pictures up in Manila
And I thought shooting grown ups is a lot easier
This morning’s behind the scenes only supports that theory
We are but slaves when it comes to shooting the little ones.
Thank You Mamdyan for tagging me along.
We drove all the way from Guadalupe to Consolacion. The best thing was the McDonalds Drive-Thru.
We brought along so many things for the shoot.
Pairs.
Here’s MamDyan preparing her camera.
And Ryan working on the lighting.
Idola u bigote oi!
Work.
Setting up takes a while.
I’m not sure how MamDyan prepares all of these. I’m sure I won’t manage.
From big to little details.
Almost. But…
It’s the baby’s turn :)
The big brother’s excited too.
Safety is of utmost importance.
Little Leandra.
Here we go.
Family portraits first.
We go great lengths just to make these little ones cooperate, you know?
Father and daughter.
Fortunately, I was present when Tal and Doy got married so I had all the freedom to shoot behind the scenes.
Previews!
So adorable little one.
It was Ryan’s turn to click. Hahaha.
When I shoot newborn babies, I entrust the moms to hold the baby. Dyan trained with one of the best newborn photographers in the states. I was surprised seeing how good she was.
For some reason, kids love me. Hahaha.
I kept reminding her to smile. She was on camera. Hahaha.
Baby doesn’t want to let go.
Mamdyan salvaged her Mom’s drawer. Hahaha.
Change!
I still shoot newborns once in a while but most of the time, I lead them to Nono.
Nono is one of the first words that Gian, Dyan’s first born, was able to say.
So I told her why not name her baby photography after that.
It sounds really cool and very baby like.
Oh my!
Almost near the end of the shoot
Here, Leandra looks like she is fast asleep.
But she kept crying towards the end. It pays to be a mother of two, you know?
Baby feet are always beautiful.
It’s really nice seeing how far MamDyan has come.
I remember a time when there was only a handful of us shooting baby pictures.
And she’s kept growing and growing.
Just like Ryan’s bigote. Growing too! Kidding aside.
Time for us to pack up. What follows are some of Dyan’s pictures.
