Exactly a month ago the three of us, Seven, Pachille and myself
Boarded an Emirates flight back to Manila
While we took different flight on our way there, we took the trip back home together
I slept most of the way but not before we shared our stories from the past days
And laughed at all the misadventures we shared
This was, after all, 5 years of friendship and love and everything in between
I’m not quite sure what is in store for us in the coming year
But on their 10th wedding anniversary in 2023
We agreed to book flights to Las Vegas and renew their vows drive-thru
I, absolutely, cannot wait for that.
In the meantime, here are some of our pictures from Dubai.
And please forgive me for such a lengthy post. Will you?
We started of at the one and only Burj Al-Arab in our best Egyptian attire.
We’ve developed this friendship in the past years that taking pictures of them is second nature.
Hey guys! What’s up?
While nobody was watching, we slipped out the room and took a photo in the hallway.
October was still really warm in Dubai so we waited until the sun was about to set before we stepped out for more pictures.
I’d never really thought I’d step foot inside the Burj. I’ve only seen and marvelled about it on TV.
Second nature, like I told you :)
Sadly, I didn’t get the chance to try out the pool but the toilet, I did :P Cheers!
On the second day we drove of to the desert in Ras Al Khaimah.
Where the sunset was terribly beautiful and my shoes were full of sand.
As of writing, I’m currently at their residence celebrating Seven’s birthday.
I thought the desert was amazing the first time I saw it. It still was on my second time.
I love messy hair pictures. I think it’s beautiful.
I had wanted to shoot with a camel here but I let it go.
I hope one day, I’d have the chance to go back there again.
When the sun was almost gone, our driver asked us to return back to the car.
But not before more pictures.
And a few more.
We laughed because the driver kept on calling us to go back.
And we gave up eventually.
Before creepy creatures come out of the desert sands.
On our 3rd day we drove to the resort emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and got ourselves rooms at the Waldorf Astoria.
There we shot more pictures by the sea.
Which I thought was a different shade of blue but still wonderful.
We’ve never been as candid as these during the past 5 years.
I thought it was beautiful.
Hi Pach and Seven. Solo pictures please.
Blurry photos are art.
Sand against their salty toes with the sunset in the background. What more can one ask for?
Look at me.
That’s our hotel, out there.
Ride until the sunset together.
The last remaining light of the 3rd day.
On our way to Dubai, we passed by Fujairah and passed by this nice looking patch of land.
So we, naturally, had to go down and take more pictures.
Forever 21 style. Or so I think.
I should have placed a caption on top of those leaves but anyway.
Grassy and rocky because why not?
I thought these would make an amazing cover for a magazine.
We roamed around a bit.
Before deciding to go back to Dubai.
This serves as a reminded that once in my life, my foot stepped into these lands.
The sunset on our way back to Dubai.
The next day we drove off to the ABRA boats near Deira.
I should have rented a separate boat for myself, you know?
But anyway, I might have the chance to go back and do this over again.
These two were troopers.
We took so many pictures it was such a pain deciding what to include in the blog.
But here we are and I’m almost done writing.
One of my favorites from the hundreds of photos that I took.
An old boat.
We wanted to go into the Old Dubai Museum but it was under renovation so we used the outside spaces instead.
And it was still great.
Another favorite.
I always love shooting under the tree.
On the 5th day, we looked for camels near Al Qudra but found this tree instead.
I love desert trees, you know? They look nice in pictures.</em
You can actually find trash here which was a little sad.
This was taken with the sun in full view. Terribly warm.
With a little help from Seven.
Run like the wind.
On day number six, we went to see the Burj again.
We enjoyed the sunset again with the rest of the people.
Then I realized that our trip was nearing the end.
We had pictures at the Burj Khalifa and Atlantis but I wanted to end the blog with this photo. With Seven looking at Pachille with the sun just about to set. To you two, I will forever be grateful that our paths crossed. I’m happy I get to create these memories with you until I still can. Salamat.
