When the wedding party was about to end, Samir and Carla thanked everyone who graced their wedding
They also talked a little about their wedding choices
Saying that since they knew they’d be spending, might as well spend it on suppliers
Who played a little part in improving the lives of everybody.
Anda Cove in Bohol was their choice for venue because the owners gave back to the Anda Community
The baskets which contained their give aways were made out of water hyacinth
To support efforts made by local groups to control the spread of this invasive plant species
Carla even threw away the idea of wearing a traditional wedding gown and chose to wear a Sari while Samir, a Barong
Ethics over aesthetics, both of them stressed
As Carla was walking me back to the lobby to bid us farewell, she whispered
“I really like how you take pictures. They’re different in a nice way.”
I smiled and thanked her for trusting me.
Deep down inside, I thought to myself that I must have been doing something good all these years
To have been picked along with the rest of Samir and Carla’s wedding suppliers
Ethics over aesthetics, I’ve figured that out a long, long time ago
Thank You Samir and Carla
