Three days before the new year I rode a van to Tuburan, west of Cebu

I really didn’t have any idea where to get off

Luckily the person sitting beside me knew Scarlet’s family

And he happily told the driver where I was headed

When I finally arrived, I reached for my phone to call Scarlet’s grandma

Only then did I realize there was no signal

I walked and walked until I reached a hut right across their elementary school

And finally managed to send a text message

I guess I waited for about 10-20 minutes before her Uncle fetched me

“I’m still lucky”, I told myself
